Was lucky enough to see this talented young singer songwriter in Austin at SXSW 2013. He’s Texan, and this vegas tune floors me everytime.

Amazing video to accompany their first new song from their fifth album Bankrupt! So so good.

Really excited about Mr Noir, a new signing to Double Six through Domino records who’ve released Eugene McGuinness and Threatmantics in the past. Foals have taken him out on tour recently, the album should be good!

It’s been a busy start to 2013 looking after the Radio 1 Breakfast Show during the New Music Takeover, which is always fun. It’s a good injection of new music at the start of the year; we can’t play everything but we get away with a lot of goodness. And I spoke to the winners of the Sound of 2013 poll/list thing that the BBC does every year. They’re worthy winners, and it was an interesting list this year I thought with Peace, Palma Violets, Chvrches (with a ‘v’, oh yes), Laura Mvula and more. I’m off to the Eurosonic Festival in Groningen, Netherlands this weekend where the show will be coming from live. We should have music by Jake Bugg, Frightened Rabbit, Dutch Uncles and more on there.

The next Huw Stephens presents at the Social is Tuesday December 11th. The line up is pretty cool with Gabriel Bruce headlining ;

Goldheart Assembly are playing acoustic co-headlinign before him, and the exciting Two Jackals are on first.
It’s free entry too, and there might be a bit of tinsel up, so yknow…..
